I was having my usually probing frenzy this morning and spied this guy on the ground, after a quick SIM I realised I could take him but didnt have sufficient recs to recycle his entire fleet, I contacted all my usual friends to see if they could help and nobody was available so I did the maths and decided to fly anyway. I wasnt going to collect all the DF but I was going to make a profit. As the fleet was flying towards the target I noticed the light come on at the target moon, I spied it and saw a fleet that was 80kk bigger than the orioginal target fleet, I ran the SIM and decided to continue the attack, I was pretty sure because of the activity on the other colonies that the defender had split his fleet on F/S and this second fleet had just returned. I watched for activity elsewhere and let my fleet hit.......
A thought then crossed my mind, why dont you just inst-build more recs you numpty ???
I dropped the res to the colony and built an extra 1500 recs to ensure I collected all the DF.
I then probed all the other colonies and found a second fleet sitting on another colony in Gal 2 so sent in a second fleet to whack that too but enroute the defender came online, I was amazed that the numpty noobie put the account straight into V-Mode whilst my attack was in the air, I didnt realise that was possible, I expected my second fleet to hit an empty moon but the wally V-Moded the account before moving the second fleet, so I whacked that one too and collected more resources.
I wasnt aware that you can V-Mode in the middle of an attack...... Did you ???
