You are not wrong that this happens all the time. I cant tell you how many times in the last 10+ years I've seen or heard someone quit the game and suicide their fleet on the nearest turtle they could find. What i can remember is the number of times someone claimed a hit like this as a new Top 10 hit. Is it technically, sure... Do most people post it as a CR (if at all) more for a joke, yep. The few times I have seen someone post it is when 1 or 2 top players leave and they have a notable fleet that they suicide on each other, or a history of bad blood between 2 people.

No way did this attacker attempt to win this battle. Its really quite evident of that for anyone that has played for more than 10 minutes.

This image below is the attacker just their fleet and your defenses. This is assuming he has the same techs as you. At their level there is no chance of that being the case, but for sim purposes lets just go with it. A loss of more than 41 million resources. This also assumes they actually got the DF...

How much resources do you want us to believe you had sitting to make this a profitable hit for them for this to be a real attempt? You only had enough cargo's for less than 17 million in resources.

The argument presented by Chucky above still stands pretty solid - where was the profit in the attack? - perhaps it was a well executed Ninja by you, who knows. BUT considering the BEST case scenario for the attacker with the fleet sent against just the defense's was less than 17 million in profit... Its only that much if they left with full cargo bays of resources.

Seems like there is more to the story on this hit. Gonna be interesting to see how it plays out. I do not know the attacker or defender to speculate but by the looks its a different one for sure.
