Yeah for the record Bizzle, I have no issue with people spending money here. None! In fact.... to the perhaps-intended point of the money comments from GO and Admin in the thread, its a good thing that some people do spend real $ in here to keep things going. I love this game as do many others and to their point.... someone DOES have to pay the bills lol.
The main issue behind why these comments are tone-deaf is a player at the top end of a universe leaderboard, who is running around telling people hes a GO, and non-GO players don't really know what being a GO entails...then shows up on forums bragging about how he made someone spend money, only to be seemingly supported by an Admin in the comments.
I can see where GameForge would have some players out there keeping the servers alive by playing, especially in the role of the big public enemy #1 near the top of the leaderboard even. No problem with that at all! The question is...does being a GO give you access to information other players don't have? I'd assume not if GOs are allowed to play with everyone else with no abuse reporting aparatus or check-ins for abuse of the info the rest of us don't have.
If however.......GameForge is giving GOs access to privlidged information like active/inactive status, amount of DM spent, fleet movements/attacks and resource spends and/or locations etc. without real oversight... than...while this is their right to do as their business' practice....... a lot of regular players are going to take a major issue with that. A LOT.
If Inprotest knows where everyones fleets are or other info, and thats the primary reason he can pick the right moon to pop and otherwise orchestrate hits, thats kind of a problem.... right? If that is true, and there is no oversight, and Inprotest is ALSO getting some kind of kickback from GameForge, then we will all assume the game is completely rigged and I fear many folks, myself included, no longer want to play in that model. This is why the money comments in this thread struck a nerve with some players. Who wants to play blackjack with someone who knows what card is coming next 100% of the time.... right?
In Inprotest's defence on the fleet info comment above, I know I have alliance members who have talked to Inprotest and other players about where people's fleets have been spotted. I am aware of at least one hit in the past where inprotest took info offered by my alliance member and crashed the crap out of another player. Frankly that could be the case with the attack this post is even about! "call in a bigger fish" is a legitimate tactic! There are TONS of ways that the game play, merciless auction bids, and other behaviors we have wittenessed from inprotest are legitimate, but we won't know that until someone starts explaining the GO-admin-Gameforge relationship and how its monitored.
This post from 2019 is the closest thing I could find on the subject of what GOs do from an admin: ➡️ Recruitment: Game Operators - [OPEN] ✔️
I would just like to hear from an admin or even a GO...
A. Do GOs have access to server information that base players do not have access to? ( Ogame wiki says fleet info is available to them, what else is?)
B. If A. is true, how is that policed by admins for abuse of said server information? Isn't it a conflict to have support tickets go to people who are active players in live universes?!
C. Do GOs receive compensation from GF, and if so what for specifically and in what model? (The link above used the word "Hire" which to me is a flag for compensation being involved)
D. If the auction end time is not available to anyone (GO's Included)...please explain how Inprotest can win so many auctions and when anyone enters a bid there is ZERO delay in his counterbid where there is supposedly no BOT being used to spam bids within the last 30 or so seconds of an auctions possible end time? (If inprotest is a retiree or some kind of disabled vet and basically LIVES in ogame that would be an explaination I would be perfectly cool with! I've love to play 24/7/365 if I could!!)
I'm not entitled to answers here, i recognise that....but It would sure go a long way to helping some of us relax about what appears to us as outside cheating, or worse, sponsored players abusing power with special data available to only them.
Wild Card, I see you liking posts in here. Care to comment on anything? Truely, if you aren't the person the entire server believes you are, this is a great place to make your case. I dont want to villify you without you stating your case and clearing things up, but your silence here is suspect.
Hello.
A. Inprotest has never been on the US team. He's a only player here.
C. GOs are volunteers and receive purely symbolic remuneration.D. The auction - is part of the gameplay that only developers have access to. No one knows when the timer will end, since it, like expeditions, has a random value. As much as possible, you can find out the end time of the auction in the range of +-30 seconds, if you have the ability to use your favorite available timer, have time to note the time of changing the auction timer and time to place bids at the right moment.
Everything else is your conjecture and guesswork, which has nothing to do with the real world.

Mate, we only help you in the support and on the forum, and somehow revive the game on the forum. We are not developers.
