📌 How is OGame discord server organized?
For the start we have decided not to have too many channels for each community, in order to provide an easy to understand setup, also for those people that are not used to using the platform.
We know many of you already use discord for your alliance for example, and there are quite a number of unofficial discord servers.
Our aim is not to replace these discord servers, but to have a place where it will be easier both for you and us to gather together and have a more direct relationship, and maybe, also meet new people.
Here is what you are going to see when you join:
#news - A read-only channel that will push out any OGame news and updates for easy convenience in one spot.
#discord-rules - A read-only channel that lists our server Guidelines, so if you have a doubt, you can always double-check.
#lobby - This is the first channel where you end up when joining our Discord server.
#general - This is the center of all OGame communities, members from all countries gather and chat here.
#stomt - Feed channel where you can follow the most recent stomt suggestions and movements and maybe find one that you'd like to join.
#bot-talks - On this channel you can talk with Commander bot and check you level/rank on the server.
EN-US (US and EN community area. Unlocks when you reack with the US or UK flag on #discord-rules)
#general - Do you want to talk about OGame within the OGame.us community? This is the place.
#mco - This channel was created back when the v7 was only in some servers and the main purpose was to center there the feddback.
#battle-reports - The right place to share your glories and invite people to check your CR forum thread.
#off-topic - Why they change Lukes name from Starkiller to Skywalker? Why Spock has pointing hears? Here you can discuss about topics that are not related to OGame.
This discord setup was the better that we found to gather all the OGame communities but we are open to suggestions in order to improve and make it better for all.
If you have any suggestion to improve the OGame discord server or there's something that you'd like to see on it, feel free to write us a suggestion on the board or a stomt.
See you there,
Your OGame Team
📌 What about the guidelines? What is the behavior to follow on discord?
On the discord server the official Discord Community Guidelines apply. And to make it a pleasant experience for everybody, we also ask you to follow to a few rules:Quote
The following set of rules can be modified at any time, we recommend you to check them regularly.
Disrespecting the rules could lead to a mute or a ban of your account in this server or any Gameforge platform depending on the severity of the action.
If you need official support, please contact us through our official support platform: https://ogame.support.gameforge.com/index.php?
It is not allowed to post content or links that can be considered as:
• Obscenity/ Swear word or abbreviations
• Defamatory/ Personal attacks
• Copyrighted material
Keep in mind that Discord is a place for communication, seeking help, giving feedback and socializing. While you might be angry, annoyed and in need to express it, there might be other players that just want to spend a relaxed afternoon outside of the game. Please respect them.
While posting in Discord, please make sure that you are posting in the appropriate section. Pay attention to the following:
1. Do not report exploits or other players in the Discord channels. In case you report bugs please make sure you have first created a ticket to the Game-Support.
2. Do not give out any personal information about yourself or anyone else.
3. Do not copy any correspondence without the permission of all parties involved.
4. Avoid posts that are considered: spamming, trolling, flaming, boycotting, “quitting the game”, “violating the Terms & Conditions” or in general upsetting the atmosphere.
5. Posts about phishing, selling accounts or gold, cheats, spreading viruses or other malicious software are forbidden.
6. Do not impersonate any Gameforge employee.
7. Do not discuss about laws or rights in our Discord (e.g. basic rights, constitutional law, freedom of religion, etc.) - there are other places for that.
8. Always use the language of the section you are posting in.
The Moderators in our Discord are your first point of contact to assist you with questions, day-to-day business and are there to moderate. They are the team that will make sure the users on the server follow the guidelines. In case of any situations that may happen with another user please contact them to resolve it via a private chat.
The Discord-Moderator-Team is the OGameTeam (Mods, GOs, SMods, SGOs, BAs, GAs, TMs from all the communities), but only your local team is moderating the community section. Our case since we share the same section with EN, both teams are in charge of moderation.
If you really cannot get along with someone, we highly suggest you to use the BLOCK feature from Discord itself, that will no longer show you their messages.
📌 And here some answers to the general questions you may have:
Are you accepting any applications for Discord Moderators?
Not at this time. In order to be a discord moderator you need to be part of the forum or game team.
Why is there no #bug-report channel?
When reporting a bug, our team often needs to take a look at the data of your account in order to understand the problem. We don’t have this direct access available on Discord and want to ask you to report bugs via Ticket system directly.
Why are there so few channels?
For the start of this Discord server we want to keep it small and simple so we can see how things are working and learn how to manage it in the best way. Also after the transiction from IRC to Discord this was the setup that we were able to have in order to gather all the communities on the same server. But as previously said, we are open for suggestions.
